Hello my Fellow Geeks and Geekettes!
This month it has
been all about Charity work!
I went to my first Can’t Stop the Serenity Charity this past Sunday, Yes I did dress up as
Kaylee and had a blast! I was with my awesome folks from North Texas Cosplay.
We all were dress up of course. It was held at my new favorite movie theater,
The Alamo Drafthouse, they were so welcoming and even made us a special menu that fitted into the screening. Like
Mudder’s Milk and firefly ser a tea.
Can’t Stop the Serenity, is a charity event to help
raise money for Equality Now, an organization the works for the protection and
promotion of the human rights of women and girls around the world. We had raffle drawing, mystery brown bags and
Auction all to raise money. We got to watch Dr Horrible sing along blog and
Serenity the movie on the big screen as part of the deal!
Just from
our event we raise $10,000. That is amazing! Since this start everyone around
the world has raise $900.000 which was back in 2006.
