Book Pile - Update
My pile of books, which I lovingly call Book Mountain, did some shrinking over the summer.
It also did some growing.
The last book I read was By the Light of the Moon by Dean Koontz, and I'm currently reading Doctor Sleep by Stephen King. Since my first list, I've read:
The Shining - Stephen King
The Picture of Dorian Gray - Oscar Wilde
Frankenstein - Mary Shelley
Dracula - Bram Stoker
The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde - Robert Louis Stevenson
The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen - Alan Moore & Kevin O'Neill
Currently in the pile, awaiting exploration:
A Tale of Two Cities - Charles Dickens
Great Expectations - Charles Dickens
The Time Machine/The Island of Dr. Moreau/The Invisible Man/The War of the Worlds/The First Men in the Moon/The Food of the Gods/In the Days of the Comet - H.G. Wells
Around the World in 80 Days - Jules Verne
Aesop's Fables
The Ultimate Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy - Douglas Adams
The Winter's Tale - William Shakespeare
The Inferno - Dante Alighieri
Wicked/Son of a Witch/A Lion Among Men (vols. one, two, & three, respectively) - Gregory Maguire
Classic Fairy Tales - Hans Christian Anderson
Great Tales of Horror - H.P. Lovecraft
Complete Tales and Poems - Edgar Allen Poe
Joss Whedon: The Biography (foreword by Nathan Fillion) - Amy Pascale
